ProVisions™ Glossary
In each issue of ProVisions™, we will add to our
list of terms
created to help keep you informed
and up to date with the
general terms used in
the celebration industry.
Accent
A distinctive feature, that accentuates,
contrasts or complements a decorative style.
All Round Print (ARP)
Printing on four sides of a latex balloon.
All Over Print (AOP)
Printing on four sides and top of a latex balloon.
Balloon Collars
Most commonly a Cluster
of 4 x 12cm balloons wrapped
at the ‘joining points’ between LINK-O-LOONs™. Can also be used to ‘dress up’ the neck area
of a 40cm or larger balloons.
Balloon Drop
A quantity of air-filled, latex or foil balloons that are dropped over
a crowd, a dance floor, a stage
or space for a special effect. Usually performed indoors.
Balloon Release
A quantity of helium-filled latex balloons that is released from
a net or box into the atmosphere for a special effect. Never release any Non Biodegradable material (including Foil Balloons) outdoors. |
Ceiling Décor
Usually helium-filled (Free Floater) or fixed air-filled round balloons or Chains of LINK-O-LOON® balloons presented in the form of Bunting, Canopies & Corrals used to decorate a ceiling over a stage, dance floor
or function area or table.
Centrepiece
Helium &/or air-filled balloons arranged to decorate or create a theme on a table. Additional items such as Candles, Spangles, Scatterfetti & Ribbons can also be added to enhance & emphasise
the decoration or theme.
Chain of Balloons
A line of LINK-O-LOON®s tied ‘tip-to-tail’ to form a required length of balloons. Used in the creation of Balloon Fences, Bunting, Canopies
and LINK-O-LOON® Corrals for the construction of Ceiling Décor.
Distortion Technique
Is a technique of inserting an object
such as length of wire, a piece of shaped plastic, an object inside a balloon to distort or distinguish
a particular shape. Try it today with Balloon It! #404
Double Stuffing a Balloon
This useful technique has many applications. Simply put, ‘Double Stuffing’ is the technique of inserting one balloon inside another balloon to create interesting effects and to create new balloon colours. This technique can save you money by reducing your reliance on stocking printed balloons in every colour.
Alternatively you can create an
arrangement in which a smaller balloon/s are ‘stuffed’ into a bigger one. For best results, use Crystal balloons. Try it today with
Balloon It! #302 & #303.
